Thanks again to EVERYONE that came to the Circle L Arena to celebrate the life of Lark. I don’t think I had ever been so nervous to put on a trial…. Wondering if I remembered everything, was I going to do things the way Lark would have wanted them done, was I going to meet the expectations of the awesome GotDog? exhibitors…..
My nerves were over ridden by so much joy as well as sadness throughout the weekend. Both of Larks dogs that were trialing were there and ran their little hearts out for her. Pamela and Niners did great as well as Derby running with me…. It was such an honor to let her play once again….
We had a GREAT BBQ Saturday evening with lots of laughs. Lark loved BBQs.
Our raffle and donatoins that came in raised over $1260 for Larks Memorial Fund!
Jean McCreight sponsored the “Lark Pollari Memorial Highest Scoring Rescue Dog” and our recipient was Rachelle Jensen and Tikvah. The list of rescues running was a complete page….. Lark loved rescue dogs and I am sure she would have loved reading that long list that were participating in her trial.

Amazing all you guys!!! Job well done I would say
Hug your friends, hug your dogs and I hope to see you all again next year for the 2nd Annual Lark Pollari Memorial Trial.
I think this truly was one of the best trials Saige and I had together… she was so good. Startlines like she has had them her entire life….she was SUCH a teammate. Bonus work that was amazing… she did everything I asked of her which was not always correct but she did it LOL We had a handful of courses that had bonus opportunities and we got two that are submitted for review… the others were all simply near misses. I even got to practice some Champ techniques on getting back on course with a wait and redirect. It truly felt GREAT!!! I truly am one of the luckiest people to have such a dog…….
Paisley got to play with me a bit but her funnest runs were with a JH Savanna Graves (Gabby Graves little sister). They did great and I know Paisley had fun and am pretty sure Savanna did too!
I got to run Brina for mom this weekend as well and she was a very good girl. I always forget just how fun she is!!!
Chili was in heat so she was in jail in a corner
I got to run a couple friends dogs in a few runs…. Zeeta for Anne Murray and I swear I am gonna steal that dog!!!! Except that I think she kinda likes her mom…. And Mattie for Lori Idland…. she is such a cutie pie and actually did really well for me!!!
It is a great compliment to me when someone asks me to run their dog…. and of course I just LOVE it!!
All in all it was a terrific weekend…. blessed to have such opportunities, friends, and dogs…………. — feeling blessed.
The Bruce R. Vincent Memorial Trial is in the books…. we raised more money with fewer exhibitors this year!! Simply amazing the GotDog? Exhibitors are… they truly truly are….. from the time the trial starts to donating, to working, to cheering each other on, to cleaning up Sunday afternoon….. THEY ALL ROCK!!
We raised $577 with the raffle.
$211 came in thru direct donations
And GotDog gave $1 coupons to workers and the workers could either keep them or donate them back and for every ticket GotDog is giving to SCAF… $175
This total is $963
Keri Daun is donating $47 to bring it to an even $1000.
Marj Vincent is going to match the raffle money $1 for $1 so we have $1577 right now to send to SCAF!!!!
After I get all my expenses figured out I will see if GotDog can send more…..
Thanks again to EVERYONE for joining us in such a special memorial near and dear to my heart……
Thank you to everyone that came to play this past weekend. We lucked out and had great weather for travel both ways…. Which is lucky cause it sure hit today!!
Arlene Courtney was a blast as usual with some fun courses that definitely challenged most of us J
We had some GREAT junior handlers this weekend… some their first trial. They all were great, had such wonderful attitudes with their dogs (even if they pooped in the ring… several times… J ) and jumped in to help where ever they could, asking to learn and were easy to teach. Looking forward to seeing them all in coming trials!!
Friday we had a full schedule of classes followed by a WONDERFUL Black Friday Steak Dinner cooked and served right at the arena on a big loooong table with white tablecloths!! Over 30 people enjoyed a great dinner and conversation together.
Saturday and Sunday were also full days with great exhibitors filling the workers board completely. Thanks to all that helped out, hopefully the workers raffles each day and tickets to use as you wish help keep those smiles and cheerful attitudes coming!
It is so wonderful when you can be surrounded by such a great group of people that have the same love of a sport we can share with our four-legged kids. I sure do feel like the Montana (and surrounding states) NADAC family is alive and well again. It is so nice to have so much laughter and camaraderie amongst everyone!!

Why are things that are supposed to be fun turn into stress? I dont get it…. life is too short! Hug your dogs and remember that no matter all the bullshit that surrounds the things you love… no one can take away the relationship or love you and your dog have for each other…..
This is an article I wrote for the NADAC Newsletter May 2013
Live with your Dog
As I sat in the middle of my rock gardens in the unfenced front yard picking weeds the other day… I looked up and just watched my three dogs. I watched them roam around as they watched passer byers on foot, bicycle, horseback, and car.
It amazes me how they seem to “know” the property boundary. The feeling of pure joy and a great sense of being proud came over me. Those few hours the 4 of us spent that afternoon were priceless.
Agility really is such a small part of having “an agility” dog in your life. The amount of time we spend with these wonderful partners on an agility course really has no comparison to the time we spend with them in life.
I am the one that lives with my dogs 24 hours a day…not my instructor, not the person that wrote the article, not the seminar instructor etc. These people can only give suggestions on what things have worked for them with their dogs and how they “enjoy” living with their dogs.
Just because they may not agree with how you do something, train something, or how you live with your dog doesn’t always mean you are wrong.
The journey that our dogs will take us on is incredible. Don’t stop learning from them or force them to be who they are not. Be inspired by and proud of where you have been and where you are going as a team.
Enjoy each and every moment you get to “live” with them.
What a great summer it has been. My good friend Marj was here for a month during July. We went on a few hikes, went white water rafting with my mom, went to a couple of trials, did some training in the backyard and included some VT runs, and most fun of all was the fires at night roasting marshmallows and visiting.
Another good friend Keri is here now for the month of August. She is always fun to have around… she is currently doing some obedience training on both myself and Chili J I think Chili is getting it quicker than me!
I also have been doing some herding with Chili this summer. I am loving it and so is Chili. I have her entered in our first trial this coming weekend. I will post later on how we do!
